Hello, there! I’m Jeff.
I was born and raised in Queens, New York with a passion for education, leadership, and faith. For over 24 years, I’ve worked in traditionally underserved communities, striving to create spaces where students feel seen, loved, and affirmed. My journey has taken me from the classroom to school leadership, where I currently serve as an Assistant Principal of Instruction in Oakland.
Beyond education, I’m a poet, author, and speaker who is passionate about helping others recognize God’s presence in everyday life. My wife Lily and I are raising our growing family of eight while navigating the joys and challenges of ministry, leadership, and fatherhood. When I’m not designing professional development for teachers and keeping students out of the halls, you’ll find me playing video games with our sons, working out, or attempting to train our two cats to respond to their names when we call them!
I believe that fathers hold a sacred calling to lead their families with wisdom, strength, and grace. In this 31-day devotional I authored after having found out we were expecting our fifth son, you will embark on a journey to deepen your walk with God and reflect His character in your home.
Each day centers on a key theme—faith, work, worship, joy, and guiding your children—rooted in scripture from the Bible’s wisdom books. Through honest reflections, real-life stories, and practical insights, this devotional equips fathers to navigate challenges, balance ambition with contentment, and cultivate a Christ-centered legacy.
More than just a book, Recognizing His Presence is an interactive experience. Each entry includes space for prayer and reflection, along with haikus that capture the heart of each day’s theme. This devotional invites you into a rhythm of seeking God, growing in faith, and leading your family with purpose.
Start your journey today and embrace the joy of fatherhood, grounded in God’s wisdom and love.
Poetry has the power to capture moments, emotions, and truths in ways that prose cannot. I wrote How to Write Poetry as a guide designed to help writers of all ages find their voice, develop their craft, and engage deeply with the art of poetry.
Whether you're a beginner exploring poetry for the first time or an experienced writer looking for fresh inspiration, this book offers ten practical strategies to unlock creativity and refine your work. Through guided exercises, insightful prompts, and real-world examples, you’ll gain the confidence to experiment with different forms, rhythms, and themes.
How to Write Poetry is an invitation to see the world through a poetic lens—to slow down, reflect, and express your unique perspective. Whether you're writing for personal growth, performance, or publication, this book provides the tools to help you craft meaningful, powerful poetry.
By nature, I’m an introvert—I never set out to be a public speaker. In fact, when I found out I had to give a speech as my high school’s valedictorian, I was so nervous that I thought I would lose my voice before I even reached the stage. But over the years, God has given me plenty of opportunities to grow in this area—through performing spoken word, reading scripture, teaching middle school math, leading professional development for teachers, and guest speaking in churches from Brooklyn, NY, to Union City, CA.
Fatherhood is one of the most sacred and weighty callings a man can embrace, and I believe that when fathers recognize God’s presence in their lives, it transforms the way they love, disciple, and lead their families. Teaching on this topic has been both humbling and deeply rewarding—it’s a conversation that challenges, refines, and inspires me daily.
If you're looking for someone to speak at your church or event about fatherhood, discipleship, and the power of intentional devotion, I’d love the opportunity to connect and serve alongside you.
